Manners and Greeting

Thai  people  always  greet  one  another  with  the  word “Swasdee”  (Means  “Good” or   Good  morning  or  Good  afternoon  or  Good  evening,  ect.)  They  are  also  put  their  two  palms  together  in  front  of  their  chests  or  under  the  chins,  and  bow  slightly.  This  is  Thai  customary  for  instead  of  shaking  hands.  When  taking  leave,  the  same  word  “Swasdee”  and  procedure  is  also  repeated.
  คนไทยที่พบปะกันจะกล่าวคำทักทายว่า  สวัสดี  (แปลว่า  ดี  หรือ  อรุณสวัสดิ์,  สายัณห์สวัสดิ์  หรือ  ทิวาสสวัสดิ์ ฯลฯ)  และพนมมือทั้งสองตรงอกหรือใต้คางของเขาและน้อมศีรษะลงเล็กน้อยอิริยาบถดังกล่าว  เป็นธรรมเนียมของไทยซึ่งใช้แทนการจับมือเขย่าเมื่อเวลาจะลาจากก็ใช้คำว่า  สวัสดี  และกระทำกริยาดังกล่าวอีกครั้งหนึ่ง  เช่นเคย
  Krab (Short  pronounced)  is  used  to  show  agreement  or  acception  for  men (Means “Yes” or “Sir” or “Ma am”)
  ครับ (ออกเสียงสั้น)  ใช้สำหรับการตกลงยอมรับหรือรับคำสำหรับผู้ชาย (แปลว่า  เยส  หรือ  เซอร์  หรือ  แมม)
  Kha  (Short  pronounced)  is  used  to  show  agreement  or  acception  for  women
  ค่ะ  (ออกเสียงสั้น)  ใช้สำหรับตกลงยอมรับหรือรับคำสำหรับผู้หญิง
 
  Maidai krab/kha,  Midai  krab/kha  is  used  for  refusal  or  in  the  negative  answers.
  ไม่ได้ครับ/ค่ะ,  มิได้ครับ/ค่ะ  ใช้ในการปฏิเสธ  หรือคัดค้าน
